CAS(E) This Sketch #13

May Flaum's The Curious Scrapbooker's Field Guide class started last week, and her first weeks focus was on Mists. Now I don't own any mists and don't want to buy something new unless I know it's something I'll use.

May did say that a substitute for mists is watering down good ole acrylic paint and flicking it on your project. Well, I do have some acrylic paint (only three colours - bright green, royal purple and black). So I experimented with the green and purple paints. The green was far too bright for the purple, so I added some of the black to tone it all down (and am really pleased with my blended result).

My first project was a scrapbook page (which I'll blog about separately at a later point) and it went really well. Next I just kind of painted a piece of white card - no end project in sight. But then I had an update from CAS(E) This Sketch and saw the possibilities.

This sketch, by Karolyn Loncon, is as follows:

Because I couldn't find a patterned paper to go with my hand made background, I created my own. I also stamped a flower from my Victoria and Albert set, added a sticker sentiment and some ribbon.
